The Succession Wars Mod Map List: work in progress
The Succession Wars Mod map format is a slightly changed WoG *h3m with its own object passabilities and grid positions. The maps of each Heroes game are done with regards to their native difficulty level, so creature level 4 in H2 is equivalent to creature level 7 in H3SW in most cases. The new map list preliminarily called The Mandate of Heaven is a list of new maps made specifically for H3SW with the use of all new possibilities of the H3SW map editor.

Le format des cartes de "The Succession Wars Mod" (H3SW) est légèrement différent des cartes *.h3m de WoG, adapté pour ses propres objets et sa propre grille. Les cartes de chaque jeu Heroes of M&M sont faîtes avec respect de leur difficulté native, donc les créatures niveau 4 dans H2 sont équivalentes aux créatures niveau 7 dans H3SW dans la plupart des cas. Well, currently we don't make them because we are fixing the map editor.
Also, our maps are not exactly Heroes 3. They have different objects, and by opening our maps in standard H3 map editor you will most probably see wrong object coordinates and passabilities.
I recall I had a small collection of maps converted to pure Heroes 3 by various authors. I may post them here if I find them.

Orzie I wondered if we needed to fix the maps for our the next beta release, because those I made look quite different from what I remembered. I can try fix as many as possible while also making the portraits if would like.

It would be awesome. I would recommend to make H2 maps first. Due to the full re-pack of objects by Uhm, some were automatically removed or misplaced. Please check carefully and compare H2 originals with our maps. There is a new folder for maps for v0.8, you can find it in %root%/Maps.
But first you should update your version of the mod.
- Go to %root%/UpToDateFiles/Mods/ and copy "The Succession Wars" folder in your %game%/Mods directory.
- After that, open the copied Succession Wars.PAC (on your HDD) file via MMArchive tool
- and copy everything from Dropbox: %root%/UpToDateFiles/!actual objects to the selected PAC. The files will be updated.
- Put zeobjts.txt from %root%/UpToDateFiles/!actual objects to the /Mods/Data. This file should reside there (I don't know why actually, Uhm told me to do so).

Thank you for guiding me. Just to be sure I have some questions. When copying from the UpToDateFiles/!actual objects to the PAC file then it is the "Add"-button that I should use, right? Also should I just move zeobjts.txt or copy it? It might be simple questions, but I just don't want to screw something up because of such small things.
I will start with our H2 maps and of course compare them with the original maps

To update the files in the PAC file, just drag the up-to-date files and drop them onto the open window of the PAC file.
You should not remove anything from Dropbox, only copy. Zeobjts.txt file should be present in Data folder regardless if it is already present anywhere else.

Dragon Rider map is finished. It is really much prettier than before thanks to animated oceans, lava and all the H2 objects. I do though still find some things which is wrong when it comes to the map editor for instance some objects have incorrect passability and some objects look different than in H2. Is it possible to fix these errors*

What objects do you mean in specific?
Yes, you can change passabilities by pressing spacebar upon choosing an object. Note that in H3 the passabilities are more straightforward unlike H2 where some squares can be passable only in one axis (in H3 a passable square is passable both via x and y). So that we will never have 100% exact passabilities, but we can be close enough.

Probably you should delete the invalid object and put the same from the table That's because objects "remember" their passability once they're placed. Moreover, I didn't want to break all maps, so I didn't delete some older objects. They're no more available in editor, but you have to exchange them with proper substitutes manually. I've also left some questionable elements, so explicitly tell me, if something is actually hopeless ;P I will be placing all updates in "actual objects - for replacement", and new - "actual objects 2" so all new things will be easy to find.

Uhm, I would also ask you to duplicate the actual files so they can be also placed in the respective folders. It's easier to operate with them that way. Sometimes it's really hard to find some certain assets. For interfaces and dwellings I suggest creating the "ACTUAL" folder in every section "Interfaces", "Heroes", "Map Objects" etc. and storing assets there with proper names.

List of wrong passability in the H3SW map editor and other small bugs
I went through the whole map editor to check all the objects and I must say I expected many more objects to have the wrong passability, but it actually was relatively few object with small flaws I found. I compared the objects in H3SW with their H2 versions by having both editors open at the same time. The first picture for a object shows the "correct" H2 passability for the object and the next one shows the current passability in H3SW.
Grass objects and general objects with wrong passability:
Snow objects with wrong passability:
Swamp objects with wrong passability:
Lava objects with wrong passability:
Desert objects with wrong passability:
Dirt object with wrong passability:
Wasteland objects with wrong passability:
Sand and ocean objects with wrong passability:
Missing object and different sprites for same object + H2 acting weird:
I only found this object missing in the H3SW editor. The other bushes of same type are there, but this one is still missing:
Apparently the dead trees have a different sprite in H3SW than in H2. Is there any reason behind this or is it just a mistake?
H2 seems to treat some objects a bit weird (the objects have "correct/logical" passability in H3SW so this is no need for a fix in H3SW, just pointing out that H2 acts weird sometimes):

The editor just isn't showing the correct passability then. I agree that some of the objects have illogical passabillities with solid square in pure emptiness, so I guess objects like that can be left "logical"

Great job! I didn't know, there is still so much wrongly described objects
I've fixed the issues, except: - skeleton & stone circle, because in H3, the H2-ish passability allows you to use it twice - one-tile objects, that can be easily considered passable, because in H2 you can walk through it - second mentioned swamp lake - I put it in different position to save place, but I can revert to original - I've put the wasteland fissure differently too, to get one tile free - 2 broken trees on swamps - their red squares seems to be buggy - lava lake also seems to be a mistake - mermaid has two red squares, but in H2 you can sail through them with no penalty - The bush you're looking for is in swamp objects - The dead trees on the right are a bit shorter, because they seem to conflict with treasures behind them.

Sounds amazing Uhm I see that many of the "mistakes" aren't mistakes at all and I just thought they were wrong, so that is just fine that we keep those objects as they should be (you and Orzie seem to know more about that than me ). I have one question though; what should I do to get these fixes for my own map editor? (just to make sure I don't do something stupid)

I've put to the dropbox updated zeobjts.txt. Just place it in SW mod's "data" folder. I've also repacked seer hut - it is called avxhutm0.def/msk/msg. These three files should be put to the succession wars.pac
