Witch Faction Heroes

This thread is reserved for the Witch faction hero roster. All info about heroes, including biographies, exterior, skills and spec is stored here.

The shield icon means general vacancy (we don't have a 16th hero portrait currently).
Moreover, we are ready to accept new portraits if they are better than the current ones. There are several portraits which may not worth efforts.

What is the name of the blonde heroine with headband?

She's somewhat familiar to me. Okay, maybe this is only me, who think about someone else, but I'm curious.

I planned her to become Zanthia, a direct reference to Kyrandia 2, a wonderful point-and-click adventure game by Westwood Studios. Currently the portrait cannot be called final, but we will make the needed adjustments later.

How true, I forgot how that game was good, now you brang me some memories thanks. Very nice choice Orzie. I hope the most number of portraits take place in H3SW mod.

I do not know if you remember me, but i tried to make the bios for the Dervish Faction.

If you want, i could try the same one for the Witches.

Why not give the Witch a hat? I mean the hero sprite, in battle and on adventure map. To make her look more unique and different from the sorceress. Just a small extra detail. The sprite is already good, but I think that the hat can be added in later versions.

Hmm, fair point Orzie, as always! Well, you know the game through and through, so I am not surprised. Damn Wizards stole the cap! XD

The hood serves better for that, yes. Of course we have Sorceresses in hoods (see some portraits), but a hood is not present in general hero concept. So that a somewhat "traveler" version of a female spellcaster can work fine. The Sorceresses usually have a more "noble" appearance.

The Wizard's Hat is also present in the game as an artifact.

I obviously saw the wizard in game before, but didn't connect the dots, since his is blue I guess, but yeah, it's definitely the same thing. Sad, because it's such an iconic image for the witch. The hood should do just fine I think! Maybe the hair can be darker though, even black.

Currently we've got a Witch hero portrait (draft) which actually features the discussed hat.


However, right now I don't see a reason to adjust the generic Witch though, because currently it's based on another hero.

No, of course, up to you! I am not saying it needs to be done and I remember about the portrait. I just think that black hair is more mystical and symbolic. But in the list of priorities, these changes even if implemented one day, can go to Heretic faction level, I am sure there are much more important tasks than to fix something that's already great!
