HD mod blur images

Actually, HD mod blur assets in H3SW 0.8.2, but pretty sure it is for almost any version.

Here is what I see with HD mod:

Is there a way to get a clean image with HD mod?

If I remember correctly (cannot check myself at the moment), there is such option as the scaling algorithm in HD Mod. Even if you use 800x600, you'll have to check for a specific setting in the HD Mod Launcher.

If it's not 800x600, that would be the answer Smile

It's interesting to see what happens in clean H3SW, if it can launch on your computer.

I played in 1980 x 1080.

my era.ini working with blur:

I did try to put 1 instead of 0 there and there... but nothing seemed to change.

In the HD launcher also I tried to change things: Stretch Filter "None +None" instead of "xBRZ x3 + Lanczos"... It should be these options. What is the matching line in the era.ini? ^^

H3SW 0.8.2 without HD mod gives a "clear" image. (but too small to play without pain in the eyes)
it is a 800x600 H3SW in the middle of my screen. with black borders all around.

Unfortunately I don't know, but perhaps someone who have H3SW+HD installed can help.
All settings should be in the .ini file, so I guess it's a matter of time for you to find it Smile

I have no information if it's ever possible to turn down the scaling, I admit.

try the following:

edit exactly this file (NOT via the launcher!):

Code:: Mods\The Succession Wars 0.8.2\_HD3_Data\Settings\era.ini

1. first change the version in the first line to:

Code:: <Version> = 5002392

otherwise HD launcher does not seem to load this ini file at all. this also gets rid of the "You should run HD3_Launcher.exe first..." error on launch. also it might be necessary to update this version every time you update the HD mod.

2. then change the Graphics.Mode to this:

Code:: <Graphics.Mode> = 6

this set's the game to the "(stretchable) 16-bit OpenGL by Verok" setting. otherwise you will not be able to run fullscreen. note that the 32-bit settings (ID's 5 and 7) do not seem to play nice with TSW mod, since all fonts are black instead of white.

3. then add the following lines to the bottom of the ini-file:

Code:: <OpenGL.Interpolation> = 0
<OpenGL.Upscaling> = 0
<OpenGL.UpdateMode> = 1

this turns off any stretch filters and interpolations - resulting in crisp and sharp pixels.
