It would be nice to be able to set the game difficulty for the campaigns, just as for the scenario (easy/normal/hard/expert/impossible).

It would also be nice to be able to set the starting resources independently from the game difficulty (ex: set the difficulty to impossible (the AI behavior), but with the starting ressources of hard).

It can be easily regulated by the timed events, so I guess it's not a high priority thing.

The campaigns are a moot point for now, because campaigns currently don't work with Ironfist.

I'm making a note to add scripting functions for giving/taking resources to/from a player. This should let you set the starting resources. That's not very useful though because Orzie's right -- this already can be done with timed events.

It's not high priority, just a nice feature, especially for campaigns as it's not possible.

With "Timed Event", the player has to modify each map (there are already hundreds maps for Heroes 2) to change the values, not very user friendly.

Basically this should be a "game" setting completely independent from the scenarios and should act before the player launch the scenario he want to play, otherwise nothing changed.

The goal is to change the resource values before to launch a scenario and without the need to manually change this for every scenario already created for Heroes 2.

When a player choose a scenario to play, he can select the game difficulty (easy/normal/hard/expert/impossible), this choice change the AI behavior (and the AI resources) and the player resources.
What would be nice is to allow the player to choose the "AI level" (AI behavior and the AI resources), independently from the "Player resources", separate the 2 settings.

Ah, I misunderstood the request.

Tell me a story where you use this feature to make the game more fun. I'm kinda inclined to at least let mapmakers design a consistent experience.

This is possible in Heroes 1, you can set the player's difficulty level and the AI level separately, and you can also set the AI level separately for each opponent, and you can even set all the opponents against you.

Is that enough fun?  Cool  Laughing
