Like these landscapes.

The bad thing is that night battles need creatures', obstacles' and heroes' self-shadowing to be implemented. Otherwise they'll look weird.

Someone wrote that it is possible to make overlay for objects during night battle.

I dont know how to do it, maybe someone with scripting skills coul'd explain this.
In theory you only need to make script that during battle on this specific battlefields gives dark blue overlay on all objects on map in the way the some spells like curse or bloodlust does(but not for a moment).

Man... that would be awsome but for now it is only sweet dream.

Kantez, I see you like to make radical stuff!

I have a crazy idea for you! : one thing that isn't realistic for me is the towns. Even if you have nothing built you can see all the buildings on the map. What if you could show ONLY the buildings that you built ?

Sure, it would mean a lot of work and a lot of castles. Dozens, hundreds of combinations..... but damn, it would be cool!

Look at this and use your imagination, every city could have diffrent ackground depending on terrain:


But you know, brutal reality strikes again, even if i wou'd draw all possile backgrounds for all cities scripting and engine woul'd be a wall that cannot be defeated.

These "ramps" are just effect of two cliff elements not fitting each other. Ramp have to be bigger.

Way to getting on those high grounds will depend on map creator preference: underground passage(like in diablo 2 from stony field to dark wood), teleports or just simple ramp.

I hope that cliffs will give new options for those who like making homm maps(me included, i made few for myself but lost them during passing years).

Cliffs in the water will allow to create coast with few entrace points that can be guarded by some creatures.

For now i think that it is better for me to focus on wasteland cliffs because it just fit to it, other terrains woul'd have to wait.
0.8 is beta right? So if this idea will gain acceptance of this project leaders and will be used by players community it can be extended.
If it fail, the amount of unnecesary work will e smaller.
There are always other things that can i do like dwellings or decorations.

Yes, there are things to be done. Things are slow arround hete... used to be daily uploads of stuff from ragoon and others!

This looks good! Very weird seeing Heroes 2 with map height :d now I wonder what you could do with holes/caverns/canyons haha. Game will look crazy!!
