HoMM Similar Games & HoMM Total Conversion Mods List

Hey guys!

Some of you probably recognise this list from some of the other Heroes of Might & Magic related forums out there. Long story short, in 2011 I created a Heroes of Might & Magic section on my oldschool retro website paying tribute to the original games along with some of the great HoMM total conversion/sequel fan projects out there (alive or dead) to make sure that they are never forgotten and can inspire other talented fans to create new HoMM related projects in the future. There are a gazillion mods & maps out there for HoMM games so I'm more interested in just tributing the big total conversion projects that expand the original game. I also created a list of other games out there that are similar to HoMM. For these lists I collected pics, vids, demos, and information for as many of them as possible. I could use some help from the community with this list as I'm sure there's more I don't know about. This is my latest summary of the website list below.

(Note: Originally built in 2001 this website is still deliberately very late 90s early 2000s retro in design. So if you’re not nostalgic for old retro websites with music, animating gifs & left click browsing then you probably won’t like it)

By the way, if i click on this link, correct url but it leads to main menu. And finding back the HOMMSeries page is... hmmm... difficult?

The above link should take you to the HoMM Welcome Entry page. Then you just click on the ginormous ENTER link in the center of the page (just below the welcome video) with all the arrows pointing at it. That link takes you into the actual HoMM section (while playing a short intro animation). Literally just one click and you're in. You shouldn't be going over to the side menu and trying to find it there.

In fact it's kind of like your website's Entry page except instead of clicking on HoMM2 shop signs to enter the site you just click on the big word ENTER hyperlink haha.

If you are clicking on the big Enter link and its somehow going somewhere else then let me know what browser you're using or if you're on a phone or something so I can try and replicate the issue.

Because I recognized this page being the same as index page, I didn't even try to click on the "ENTER SITE"...

haha yeah every section of the site as its own custom entry page with screenshots and background that particular section.

haha yeah every section of the site as the same entry page with same text everywhere, and just screenshot put in the background that differ , but only the one knowing theses images may make a link between the game and the background images. Because ... it could seem just to be animated background, with random images from random games.

If you change the background, then, why not changing the text in the page to clearly says it's the correct page?

It's not just the background image, the side images all change for each section too.

Because honestly it never even occurred to me that someone would think that all the entry pages were the same page going to the same section and refuse to click on the giant enter hyperlink haha, and you're the first person in 20yrs to mention having an issue with it haha. However now that this has happened I will put the game section names into the welcome titles & intro text on my next big site update.

That's a good point! I did see your Ironfist forum and website the other day and I think I added it to my 'future tributes' word doc to add it to my site and list, just haven't got to it yet haha.

Hi, I’m afraid the android version is not available yet. It took me four years to develop this game full-time, and nearly all my savings were gone. I didn’t do the promotion, so nobody knows about it yet. Due to the pressure of life, I have to find a job, so I don’t have much time to do a version transplant, at least not yet. I like the HoMM series very much, and welcome to communicate with the fans of HoMM.

No worries mate, real life comes first (as much as it sucks sometimes haha), but yeah a PC port would be even better than an android one haha. The similar Palm Kingoms project was rejected by GoG but he was able to get one of his games onto Steam. However Itch is probably the best bet for a PC release.

Once there's a version I can play on I can try it out, do a tour video and promote it around all the retro gaming and HoMM communities I chat at.

Thanks for your advice! I'm trying to perfect it now. I hope more people try it out and give helpful suggestions, though it can only be found in the App Store.
