[H3SW v0.8.0] Game not launching (Assert violation in file...) or lacking VCRUNTIME140.DLL

This bug is met on some newer systems. We are working on it. According to the latest information, it seems that VCRUNTIME140.dll is missing on some computers, but we do not recommend downloading it from unreliable sources. In the next update, we are supposed to re-compile some of the mod plugins in compatibility mode to solve the problem.

EDIT: Try installing Visual C++ package from Microsoft website. Report if works.

After formatting my laptop, I did all your settings, requirements, and installation but the game just keep refusing to launch. I've encountered a new problem, it does not show any error messages like the opening topic have showed. I've checked task manager, it shows game process then in a second only, it end tasking itself.

Edit: I've ticked the DirectPlay in legacy component in "Program & features" in control panel box but the game still refuse to open.

Did you try the x32 package even if your system is 64-bit?

Well, I finally fix my issues. The fix for mine is just to restart my laptop. It seem even with all settings, installations, and fulfilled requirements will not respond properly before restarting. Although it is really weird to do this step. Oh, I did installed x32 packages.
