Hello everyone! I just started here and I have never modded before. I only got into this so far because I am absolutely ecstatic for this Heroes 2 remake. I just downloaded the ERA demo, but I am not sure how to launch it. I see no .exe or anything. Am I missing something? Any tutorials out there? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Hi, as newbie, I'm not 100% sure, but ... To mod a game, you normally need original game. After clean installation, you rewrite original files with patched their versions.
In other threads, creators write you need Homm 3 Complete from GOG (website Good old games). The installation contains the exe file.

The demo you are talking about dates back to 2013 and is strongly, terribly outdated. I sincerely recommend to wait a few months for our new release, which is about to happen in 2018. I will drop here the links for videos so that the difference could be easily seen. Old 2013 beta:

What shutout81 requested is the instruction how to launch our old 2013 demo which requires the ERA platform to run. To do that, the players would need to download ERA 2.46, which is a standalone development, and then put our mod (being in fact an ERA module) in the Mods folder. This installation is not very convenient and I sincerely hope that we will implement the install-and-play feature just in time for the upcoming v0.8 release, which is to happen in 2018.
