I will regroup in this first post links to Minecraft's resource packs being Heroes of M&M related.
Homm2 Musics
1.16 https://mega.nz/file/MAowXKLZ#ogGsBNox1WtlMLJXTvFKFGTvnAPQeozLbJALBBBWeGc (67MB) from 4 differents musics on Main Menu, we have only 2 different musics. Added ../nether_wastes/rubedo.ogg (was menu4.ogg in previous version) Added ../soulsand_valley/so_below.ogg (H2: AudioTrack 19) Added ../crimson_forest/chrysopoeia.ogg (from Heroes 3: LAVA.MP3)
1.13 : https://mega.nz/#!IBRWXQgL!x2rQscvam2jLJ_dzVkKbgU8bjTF5NINPmh63lPi_qfE (67MB) This pack is for 1.13 and 1.14 (should works with some earlier versions). Replace only the background musics for survival mode.
GodRage Enroth
All previous and released "GodRage Enroth" packs on this page. This pack is in few words: + some blocs/items/sounds from Homm2 + Minecraft's Vanilla style items into 32px (handmade by myself) (+ Homm2 Musics for old versions: 1.13 and before)
"soon" the 1.13. I am almost ready to update this texture pack. The page is still "basic" (and may be basic for some more month): http://homm2.free.fr/enroth.php?p=minecraft there is old links and an alpha version for the Minecraft snapshot 1.13: Lands of Enroth 1.0 (63 MB) https://e-nautia.com/godrage/disk?p=8211974
63MB because musics are heavy. Once the 1.13 is out, i'll check if everything works fine, and probably will make a short video or take screenshots to share.

Right, the 1.1e is lacking some improvement about grass side that i made, and seems had the old soulsand i drawn myself... here is a fresh screenshots of theses blocs:
I follow a simply rule for this pack; not making my design¹, as far as i can. I had to draw a bit for the pickaxe and minecart_with_(tnt, command bloc, etc). As the netherrack was just perfect (imo ) i tried to draw the remaining nether's blocks. Kind of it could be a "better nether textures pack". I think i found a good soulsand, but i'm still in difficulties for the glowstone: i still didn't find a correct image in Heroes II for it. +,+):
¹ i have another texture pack where i draw things. But also, it's more items-side instead of blocks-side.

You can use gold pile as glowstone, the only difficulty there is to fit it into a square.
Also, learn about blockstates, so you can make soulsand have the corpse with 10% chance (as an example). Also, you can add your own models for ladders, fences, blocks etc, though it requires some programming skills.
i thought that bloc modification like that was working only with Optifine. I won't touch the 3D models of items. But if someday someone want to "upgrade" this Homm2 pack with 3D rendering... he can do it. But, adding randomness into the bloc textures would be great, as we have around 10 different grass texture, and around 5 lava textures fitting the netherrack. Soulsand is a bit yellowish, and will sharp the nether. I would like to change the quart_ore also, because actually there is a "up/down" design.
for the glowstone... hahaha its powder is sulfur.

i prefer the 12 (sparkly goldy) and the 20 (red one). But i still like the n°8. Ahh... but seems the 12 one is the good way to go. I just need to make it "unsided": no up/down.

A short gameplay video could work nice, too Personally, I was never interested in Minecraft, but the video content is what I would surely look at.
Hmmm i may record one just for you, if you are really curious about it. But, as the changes in this pack is very light, I am not really sure what should be present in a "let's show the texture pack" 's video.
Lands of Enroth 1.3 : https://e-nautia.com/godrage/disk?p=8347010 Changes : the 3 under water musics are now HoMM2's musics.
I have another pack i did, I think i will mix them toghether, and so, this Heroes II texture pack may not be updated anymore... Until someone else wants to imprive it.

I split up my pack into 2 packs to put the 67MB of musics into a "Homm2 Musics" pack:
Homm2 Musics 1.13 https://mega.nz/#!IBRWXQgL!x2rQscvam2jLJ_dzVkKbgU8bjTF5NINPmh63lPi_qfE (67MB) This pack is for 1.13 and 1.14 (should works with some earlier versions). Replace only the background musics for survival mode.
GodRage Enroth 1.14 http://godrage.online.fr/.../GodRage Enroth 1.14 snapshot 19w11b.zip (3MB) This pack is in few words: + some blocs/items/sounds from Homm2 + Minecraft's Vanilla style items into 32px And it should works with 1.12 also. (even if there is a red message)
GodRage, would you mind if I tried to tweak your pack to have it supplement - i.e. not replace - the original music? Hearing the grass or dirt theme slowly work it's way through my headphones, unexpectedly... I'd dig it.
Oh, I wonder if you could have certain tracks play in the right biomes, too? Thing is, I've got a lot of biomes present, hrmn... Something to think about, I guess.

Yes no problem. I hope you will post here any modifications you made.
About playing tracks depending the biome you are in... it could be possible but you'll need optifine or another way of modding i think.

Yes, you know it! !) I want to make sure I haven't bitten off more than I can chew, but I've been studying several 'immersion' packs, and think I might try to implement how they work. Well, I'll be taking the first real shot at it over the weekend... But when I have something solid, even if it's an alpha of an alpha you'll get to play around with it, too!

Somehow it seems the 1.13 pack was not working. Now, this pack, made for 1.15 works well.
In the next Minecraft update (1.16) there will be 3 more ambiant musics for the nether. So I will have to modify it again. But I already used all the "lava" musics. Maybe I will add some fan-made or H3/H4 lava-theme?
GodRage Enroth 1.15.zip : (3MB) https://mega.nz/file/sZwACQBT#VTIq5jejvFUEfXHGUa7VpYGwREdr3JtgZh861R2y_bU a bit late (I made it in January 2020), but here it is.
With the incoming Minecraft 1.16, I may have to delete some of the textures I did for the nether. But I will keep the netherrack.

I love this! Downloaded it, I appreciate the efforts that went into this. Any chance you're looking for a helping hand?
Your comment is really the kind of help I need. Moral boost
Don't hesitate to tell me what you like/dislike. Sometimes I do things very "strange" (such as the "destroy_stage_" )
Things that may need help:
Gui: I thought about designing all the boxes with HoMM2 style, but, when I look at the "Diablo 2 resource pack" I found on internet, I think that keeping the boxes in vanilla style is probably better.
Texts: I still didn't try to put HoMM2 font in this pack. That's a job of 100 hours... For maybe not a very good readability ingame.
Items: easier/faster to do! There is some items that may not look very good, because I mainly used "XBR x2" ability (kind of resizing the image with a tool), and so, if you feel like there is some items that have too much blur, feel free to design a new version and post it here!! The main difference between my pack and Faithful (or others 32px vanilla packs) is that to be "H2ish" the item need a big border. - Minecart with furnace/tnt/command bloc: I feel theses ones have to be redone. - golden_carrot: not fancy enough for such a great food in this game.
Blocs: I tried to change as few as possible blocs. If you let me dream what should still change: The enchanting table, and his book (enchanting_table_book.png). Maybe it could be more H2ish... actually the book is quite blur. I already deleted the enchanting_table from my next version.
Sounds: That's the most difficult: finding good matches is difficult. Earlier versions had the Creeper with Ogre sounds. I would really like to replace the sounds of Villagers by a H2 sound. But I couldn't find a matching set of sounds.
Entity (mobs): I didn't try to give the look of the H2 Zombies... I don't think it will look good, but maybe it could be possible?
But, don't force yourself, just do whatever you feel to, if you want to. (I don't even know what exactly you had in mind...You like to do pixel arts? You wanted to design some netherite items? Designing new blocs from the 1.16?)
Things I already changed for the next version:
legend : + added - deleted * other (design change)
If you want to check it, here is a link for the "GodRage Enroth 1.16 beta01": https://mega.nz/file/oc4DGCLL#kLBYIZxNCelpMsOJd75Vv9tmertYoJ5vMRsDF-Poz4A
About the Music pack, I will dig into it when 1.16 will be released, to check what new musics are here, and if I can find another H2 (or maybe H3) Lava/inferno music that isn't yet in this pack.

I briefly tried it out, I do have a few things I'd like to point out! I don't know how Minecraft resizes its sprites and text, but with your resource pack the sprites appear deformed (like when you resize something in MS Paint) if the game is not fullscreened (and I prefer playing it in windowed mode like a weirdo). I noticed that the numbers were also in the HoMM II font, but the letters aren't, they looked very crooked when I resized the game window. I think the fonts should stay original for now
I do pixel art sometimes, I could help reskin some blocks (and maybe mobs?) That's really all I've done for Minecraft resource packs, I've never added custom sounds or music. It's probably going to be challenging to pick out fitting sounds, since the only time the creatures make a sound is if they're attacking/being attacked.
Would you like me to contact you privately for easier sprite-sharing? I have a Discord account ^^
(Btw, dw about me being online, I was just idling because I left the tab open haha)

Minecraft don't really resize anything (just scaling)... But some sprites are deformed? Can you tell me what item/bloc exactly?
Numbers are just handwritten, I didn't even try to copy the HoMM2 font. So I'm pleased to hear that I made something H2ish. Letters are the "Faithful original" letters. (so if they looks deformed on your screen, your Minecraft may has a serious problem try to just deactivate the resource pack and check if original letters has this problem too...) I do use theses numbers because it's less "heavy" than original numbers: with original numbers you can't see that much what is your item/bloc in your hotbar... So it could look strange. But if the letters aren't really readable on your screen then... I'm curious to see a screenshot of your screen.
Ok Then Feel free to reskin any bloc you see deformed
Sounds of mobs are usually: attacking, damaged, killed, walking, wandering/idle. With up to 5 differents sounds for one state (for example, Horse has 5 different walk sounds)
I've a Discord account too, but if it's just PNG files, posting them in this topic would be better than Discord. ...And more people can join us I know there is silent readers who like to see this kind of Enroth-related activity.
