I was amazed to know there are so many covers on the original HoMM2 soundtracks. I'll start with the most unusual one - metal version of the Grass theme by Harjawaldar. Other tracks are made by him as well.
The old version of the ost is there:

Not really a cover but a small tutorial I made for playing one of the best themes ever on the piano for beginners.

Hey Galaad. Nice to see such a dedicated Heroes fan here I really like that tutorial and since the Sorceress theme is one of my favorite themes (if not the favorite) I am really happy to see how to play it on the piano. I will definitely try this out. The only thing I missed was the piano solo, but other than that it was fantastic

lol by browsing backup discs I just found an old rehearsal I made with a singer on that theme, it sounds very amateurish, there is a few mistakes and the piano is out of tune , but hey, what the hell: https://app.box.com/s/2o10s7zqe60sbo1zm1ozrk48js1pbfmc
I should definitely get back in touch with her and try to do a proper recording.
Ps. I'm not forgetting the piano solo tutorial, just haven't found the time for it yet.

Very nice to hear this! I actually have got my own vocal cover of the Warlock's theme, but I abandoned practicing it for some time (lack of motivation and free time) and the existing versions (from March, 2014) are too crappy to show here. But still I hope to return to it sometime.
Singing opera in German is twice as hard because it's opera and because it's German.

Why aren't we making capella versions of the songs? The more the merrier. Just asking.

A great rendition of the magnificent Warlock theme from Heroes of Might and Magic II from the amazing Heroes Orchestra!! They are really a passionate group, especially maestro Alberski. I hope to see more HoMM II themes from them
P.S. this video has something from H3SW in it

Thanks for sharing this.
I just wonder... For me, Opera singers always sing in foreign. Even if they sing in my mother tongue (French), I won't understand anything.
So, do someone understands??? Do we somewhere have the Opera lyrics?

All Heroes II lyrics are in German and are from the Bible if I am not mistaken. The lyrics for the Warlock is something like this:
Willst du heute dein Feuer in die Täler tragen? Fürchtest du nicht Fürchtest du nicht Fürchtest du nicht des Brandstifters Strafen?
Which roughly translate into: (I haven't had German in school for a long time)
Will you light your fire in the valleys today? Don't you fear Don't you fear Don't you fear the arsonist's (pyroman's) punishment?
More info on H2 lyrics can be found here: Link

I know it was a year ago and such but I was really into HoMM II music and got lots of texts, conetxts and was really fascinated by work that has been done with all of towns soundtracks.
There's one rule in Succesion Wars that Romero did and it's really amazing on interpretation level. Sorcerres and Knight themes has the lyrics from Bible - first from psalm 53 and second is from psalm 115 (these two are abouts heathens).
Warlock, Barbarian and Necromancer has lyrics from "Thus Spoke Zarathustra" by Nietzsche. So God and the idea that the God is dead, that the only thing that is remaining is lust and injustice.
It's a little bit different from what we have in Price of Loyalty (more Bible) but it's for another post, I think
PS Was on Heroes Orchestra concert a while ago (well, I even was in the squad for a few moments but time has killed my involvement). They're doing great job

Heroes Orchestra is back yet again with a wonderful series of HoMM II Terrain themes. My personal favorite is the Ocean theme, which has gotten a interesting take on it with a saxophone. Have a listen to this amazing piece for yourself
