Subject: Location of H2 factions on Enroth 2023-02-02, 08:49
So I never played the "Might and Magic" games, and frankly, not much of Heroes 2, but I always wondered where, approximately, the factions of that game are located on the continent of Enroth. On the internet, I didn't find much info outside of the basics, e.g. barbarians inhabit the northern highlands, so I would appreciate it if someone told me the approximate borders or terrains controlled by each of the classes. Are they even territorial like the factions in Heroes 3? This map with some reference points could help with that:

As far as I know, continent Enroth is not divided on various "countries" (or rather kingdoms), like Antagarich (continent from Heroes III/Might and Magic VII). The only kingdom is the Kingdom of Enroth (yeah, the same name as continent and as entire planet ), which was founded after the War presented in Heroes I (where Morglin Ironfist, father of Roland and Archibald, defeated three other pretendents to the throne). As a result, also Succession Wars was over the crown of the Kingdom of Enroth, only kingdom in the continent of Enroth.
As for the factions - some of them are rather divided on "guilds", which of course have their main "home" in various cities (e.g. Noraston - home for the guild of Sorceress Guild). But To be honest, my knowledge (or rather memory0 is not that great and I could not specify exactly, where are all "headquarters" of various guilds.
I mean, I played and finished entire Might and Magic VI game (RPG which action took place on Enroth continent), but this game was quite big and for sure I did not memorize all cities and their major functions

Thanks for sharing this info. Do you remember anything about the location of the wizards (I found almost nothing about them)? Also, do you or does anyone know of any clues as to the setting of the "Price of Loyalty" campaigns?

There is a H3SW global map in the works, which I will show tomorrow. There, you will be able to see a more or less combined information who dwells where

Well,
Although there is no official information on your requested topic (Heroes 2 never specified even the shape of the continent, it was defined only in Might and Magic 6), some members of the community collectively compiled everything known from every game featuring Enroth.
Fan-canon map with all Heroes 2 (and Heroes 1) locations fitted to some parts of the continent.
There, you can see Enroth as a continent before the Kreegan invasion. Locations from H2 and MM6 fitted on one map, and the creatures indicate the possible dwellers of the region
Enroth is a single 'country', but it is ruled by Ironfist dynasty in the loose sense of the word. Each location is subordinate to the crown, but as we can see, they are far from being controlled, especially such places as Darkmoor or Kriegspire. Necromancy is outlawed, by the way.

Nothing, maybe except the town size. That’s an artist’s vision.
Generally speaking, factions are not divided by regions, the general feudal structure is present, so there are Warlocks, Knights and Sorceresses living in close proximity everywhere. First missions of both Roland and Archibald campaigns feature a free-for-all where these lords are not allied; later they are polarized to serve under Roland or Archibald.
Barbarians are neutrals employed by Archibald, they are mainly supposed to reside in northern Krashaw regions from where they originated in Heroes 1. The defeat of Lord Slayer in H1 made them dissolve into clans, not being able to unite in a single force like it was under Lord Slayer.
Necromancers are upstarts from particularly radical Warlocks trying to seek darker secrets of magic and prolong their life.
Wizards are “official mages” and also one of the feudal Lord factions to dwell in Enroth.
