Hiya, I've been a fan of the project for quite some time. I was wondering whether it would be possible to make H2SW compatible with WOG. I always wanted to play H3 with the H2 graphics (one of my favorite ideas on modding H3 in general, so kudos to you!), but I'm really missing those nice WOG modifications such as being able to tinker with game rules, troops, experience, officers, etc.
I know that it is impossible to make it 100% compatible (e.g. WOG introducing various new models and stuff) but I'd still love to be able to tinker with the rules. I remember that I actually managed to create this monster of a hybrid HoMM3, that was basically the game with both WOG, HoMM2 graphics (90% because of additional models from WOG), and HoMM HD. I have no idea how to replicate this combination (as they are said to be incompatible), any ideas?
Ok so i was actually able to make it work! First I installed ERA, then simply copied and pasted the HSW mods content, and added it in the list.txt file. Everything works EXCEPT for the music Any ideas how to fix that?

We deliberately chose to abstain from the WoG options in the v0.8 and v0.8.1 versions as we wanted the mod to be its own complete game. However, it is still possible to enable as you found out I don't know what might have disabled your music though. I don't think I have experienced that before, so maybe it is some settings with HD mod, WoG or the general options? If you are curious the (very!) old V0.7 beta from 2013 actually had some H2-styled WoG features as commanders, but that version is not as pretty or functional for the matter of fact.
As a matter of fact, I managed to make it work (somehow). However, despite being semi-functional, the modded game reveals one fatal issue - whenever I choose a dwelling to recruit a unit I get 4 screens of the same unit, they cannot be selected and bought :/
EDIT: I actually tried out the 0.7 beta version, and I get the same thing.
