When did 3DO and NWC disband?

I don't really knows if 3D0 (or 3DO??..) has something to do with Heroes II (I know they worked on Heroes III).

I wanted to put that "date" in a patchnote, to explain why it's better to join Forums of Enroth and ask for help here, instead of sending a fax or a letter to dead places...

edit: And what about Cyberlore? the website is still "half up, half dead".. :p

3DO didn't work on anything Heroes-related. It was a publisher.
The first NWC's game under 3DO was Might and Magic VI: The Mandate of Heaven. It was after Heroes 2.
The releases of Heroes 2 where you could see 3DO logo are just released later - it was 3DO's idea to release the GOLD and Millenium versions.
3DO disbanded in 2003 (you could check that in Wikipedia).

Cyberlore developed the PoL addon. Also they developed an addon for Warcraft 2 and made their own cool game called Majesty: The Fantasy Kingdom Sim.
And yes, you could check Cyberlore in Wikipedia too.

1997, Heroes II: Price of Loyalty. (made by Cyberlore Studios, editor: NWC)
2003, Death of 3DO. (and so, death of NWC)
20?? Ubisoft buy the Heroes of M&M licence (but doesn't support old HoMM versions).

So... There isn't official staff support/updates since 2003.
