A very interesting project proposal by Quantomas: HEROES OF THE ANCIENT ORDER

seems really promising, there are very few games in this genre...One that springs to mind is Royal Bounty.

Too bad there's not much info, this would take a lot of time to make...so who knows what will happen.

It seems like somebody wants to bite off more than he can chew... Of course, it would be fantastic to create independent game based on classical NWC games with refreshed experience. But to achieve this many skilled people are required and they have to do something substantial to encourage people to crowdfound or buy their game. From what I've seen on this project work only one person (but I can be mistaken) and he claims that he almost completed very advanced AI. I am afraid it will not do to release "greater more advanced game, a hub" but I wish him all the best

Actually, I think this project proposal has a lot of potential and merit. Quantomas has written very advanced AI for HOMM5, and that AI is considered one of the best in the series, if not the best. Jobs will be offered and filled on a professional basis - it won't be fans doing it in their own time at their own whim. And I feel he will be a good guide to have the final say on anything that has to be decided one way or the other. This won't be a "game by committee", it will have a strong steering wheel and rudder and leverage the power and enthusiasm of the community. Finally there would be an alternative game that is similar to the HOMM series (stacks, turn-based fantasy and a mixture of strategy and tactics) but made by people who care about the game, its players and what makes it fun to play, and makes the most of what all the HOMM games have brought forth as well as expanding it too.

It's fun to see Brian Kemper's name again, since he even appeared somewhere in 2013-2014 with a proposal to help H3SW with graphics. It was Kivo who actually was supporting a conversation with him. Yet, at some point Brian disappeared.
