This topic is reserved for the development of creature animations (one of the most time-consuming aspect of the project).

GENERAL INFO:
 


ANIMATION LIST    18/21
Prioritized animations (necessary for v0.8 beta release): Moving, Attack (or Shoot) Straight, Death.
Please note that some of the animations (like the current Satyr) are drafts and can be improved.

Marksman's and crossbowman's move, death and idle animations are ready! Tell me, what do you think about their deaths, I've got the feeling it's too fast.

I think they are good, we'll see how the game will look with them.
They might be even too smooth so removing 1 frame at least for a test is not excessive. Compare with the Cyclops, for instance.

Thread updated as of 15.05.2017. Broken Satyr images restored. Here is the most recent static.



Currently we have one more creature which requires some love: the Anubite. Back in the day Agar and I came up with those Moving and Getting Hit animations, but after that the design was changed slightly to fit more to the common Dervish gamma.
The only necessary updates here are Attack Straight (two-handed scythe melee attack with a nice amplitude) and dress adjustment.




P.S. this was my first creature to introduce to H3SW where I only started learning. Smile


Also put already complete Pirate and Bandit animations. The Pirate actually lacks the Getting Hit animation, but we can probably cut it from the Death starting frames.


Also added recent DrSlash's developments on the Crossbowman.

The Crossbowman is finished! The PSD file with all frames is put to Dropbox and the creature def can be finally made.



The only thing which may require some fiddling is the too smooth melee attack animation. We may want to actually remove some frames while making the def file in DefTool.

I would cut 1 frame of knife grabbing, 1 of rising hand with knife to stab and 1 of putting knife away
How about marksman?

Also add bandit anims in the tread when you'll find the time Smile

The Marksman is in progress by DrSlash. Since there are many differences with the un-upgraded version, it took more time than planned.

I actually don't know where to look for them Sad Since Dropbox is no longer updated on WinXP, I don't receive instant update history and have to seek everything online using Chrome (which is also not updating because of WinXP).

Currently I am engaged in the Road Wars for the Knight townscreen, and soon will be able to present my take on it.

I dont see them in v0.8. They almost dont have any animations and I would rather fix and add anims for other creatures. But it's only matter of work time :p

Well, in fact the Knight townscreen is currently my topmost priority so I spend every evening on it.

Concerning the Devil, you are not completely right, because it has teleport movement, the death is ready and the attack should be purely based on H3 Dendroid, so I hope to make it eventually.

If you'd like to focus on the existing creatures, currently the Death Knight is one of the weakest being too clumsy. The Satyr's legs were also discussed earlier.
