Pixel painting: Mefista

I am not very good at it, but, as ever-patient Orzie can confirm, I do try. Only attempted few Heroes2-style pixels so far, an artefact and a portrait (wich is going to have its face heeeavily redone and helm made monotone, as it doesn't fit the HOMM2 style)




My usual thing is way simpler GBC-style sprites:

I see that the staff has improved much since I last saw it, nice job. I still insist on changing the angle to a more simple 45-degrees scheme or at least to 60 degrees exactly, so that it will not be as distorted. This is the case where counting pixels is really helpful and brings nice results. The lower part is actually looking nice, but the middle part (near the gem) sure could have some work in terms of better symmetry.

The GBC stuff is also notable by the way, because earlier MM1-MM2 games in fact did have a very similar art style.

I haven't changed the angle on staff yet cause it requires redrawing almost half of the sprite, but I'll get to it

Mine is based on Pokemon gen2 mostly, but I can try for more MM-like if necessary ^^

I kind of don't understand how to give it the "texture" canon sprites have, tho...

It's a simple recolor, but Orzie told me to put it here, so there: "mossy" bone dragon (accidentally copied wrong palette over, and it looked surprisingly good)


Sprite ripper's credit left in cause it's fair, but the recolor is all me

Heroes II-style pixel art is hard to do, so yeah, my attempts are kinda creepy ^^'
Or you meant GBC ones?
