No promises that this will work out, but I have made some progress on a widescreen mod to ironfist:



The xbrz scaling part (in regular 640x480 -> 1280x960 aspect ratio) basically "works", but it is so slow that it is unusable. It can be sped up but I need to learn more about win32 graphics before I am able to do that.

why are you doing this?

If you are doing it for yourself as a hobby or a project, i understand, nothing to say there.

However if you care about other people playing it,there's absolutely no reason to work on this instead of the SW mod. There's plenty of stuff to be done from a technical and art perspective, and you seem to know what you are doing.

With SW mod you will reach 10x more people(at least) and you will be able to to a lot more advanced and interesting stuff( I just heard about the HD mod, they can't add HD+ because of technical reasons...there's a challenge for you! )

As a fan I'm glad people who are experts (programmers,artists etc) band together and create something fun, it's nice to see this kind of support for an old game. At the same time I'm sad because most of your work will be wasted, at least compared on what you could do on the SW mod.

My thoughts only.
