I would recommend you to ask such questions in specific subforums, but since this community is small and only begins its way, I guess I can answer here.
The H3SW map editor for the upcoming v0.8 beta should feature standard WoG functionality, with all unnecessary objects cut out and new objects introduced to the respective lists. We were successful in changing the icon colors and implementing color cycling, but only for a testing version. We didn't manage to achieve HotA-like major extension of the map editor capabilities and design, unfortunately.
The map editor for Project Ironfist is going to feature new objects along with the new developed 7th faction - the Cyborg. Currently Darmani searches for a way to add new objects freely. Current builds of Ironfist already allow to add your own creatures and script specific maps.
