International Tavern

Do you think we should open an international Tavern, for minorities languages present on the forum?
I guess for example people will never open a german topic in the English Tavern...

We need this international Tavern, kind of Global Tavern, where global topic can be discussed.
Like the fan arts or so...
Translating topics in French in the English Tavern give me a bug in my mind.
And making a copy of the topic in French in the French Tavern also make me thinking that it's not "perfect".

Yeah, most probably. However your translations of the important technical information (utilities, mods, tournaments, downloads) is still very valuable. We can unify the taverns and place all topics in one place.

I am thinking about separating the actual Tavern and questions related to the game though. The Tavern is supposed to support the Enrothian atmosphere, and I would like it to be a somewhat center for the Enroth-inspired creative people who love the setting and the universe, so fan art, fan fiction, and so on would be the most anticipated.

The questions about "how to launch heroes 2 on windows 7" should be placed in another subforum, probably called Technical Support or something more poetic. This subforum should also exist of course since we are collecting everything about H2, but separately from the Tavern which should be more specialized on Enroth-based creatives.

Only Orzie and me had an opinion?

Ok, finally I made the french tavern hiden, and free to join it by joining the french group.

I hope there would be some Polish friends of mine here soon, so Polish tavern would be a nice touch, though I think it isn't necessary by now.

I put some hope in the Polish community, too, because Polish dudes seem to be loving the game as well as we Russians.

Of course we can create a Polish Tavern in future, if that will be needed, but for now what we need is to create a more or less self-supporting community.
Besides, Heroes 2 is not the necessary limit of this community. Perhaps there will be new sections in future dedicated to other games or projects - it all depends on the people. And yeah, the projects/games are likely to be dedicated to Enroth

I agree to this idea. I think having a place where members can communicate without having to learn the English language is a good idea. I think it might not be a bad idea to keep the links to these forum sections out in the open where they can be easily reached. That way, if someone speaks multiple languages, or is learning a different one, they can mingle with a different group whenever they'd prefer.

I also agree that different sections should be made up for general discussion, Heroes based, fan creations, and other things of the like. Organization and diversity make for a tidy and interesting interface, respectively.

Got some doubt about duplicating every section of the forum. The whole structure can easily become too massive and hard to navigate. I would vote for users posting their questions in the respective taverns, asking their compatriots for translations of certain post right there in their Tavern or at least commenting in their mother tongue right in the thread.

Still, we've got too less people not capable of understanding English to be seriously bothered with this problem right now. The more serious problem is to attract people in these times troublesome for forums in general.

How are things going in the Forums of Enroth in general?

I still have to rearrange H3SW forums. I recently added the first public version of the Dervish design document, it took a good while to compose.
Currently the development of H3SW is going fine and we hope to bring more activity with the fresh updates. Many new content is to be added.

I spend 1-2 hours a day to promote the forums on various resources. Some people accept the invitation and come, so I am full of optimism.

The big problem of the forum is currently in the fact that 95% of posts belong to an admin. I will put more time in the forum development to create more sections satisfying the needs of everyone. What I would like to see is the section for Fan Fiction (we already have some decent examples in the Russian Tavern but I'm not aware if there are any Enroth-inspired writers in the English internets). We also feature Might and Magic VI in the Fan Fiction section, because this game is also set in Enroth continent and provides a nice piece of lore. Other MM games as well as H1 and H3 are also welcome - perhaps I will even consider extending the forum boundaries to these games too.

Besides, you may have lost a lot of interesting content in the English Tavern. There are some unique threads you won't find anywhere else, and I hope to maximize their amount.
