Mage Guild regen for levels 1-5 would be 20/40/60/80/100 % of maximum. So you would get the level, the game would calculate that percentage of your total spell points, and add them on up to that hero's maximum spell points. Of course Level 5 Guilds would just set the spell points to maximum.

This makes higher mage guild towns or cities, and strategically placed wells (the map item that regenerates all your spell points) a lot more important. Maybe we could make new wells that regenerate up to a certain percentage of total spell points, like in H4?

I think this could make for some interesting "mana-starved" maps. Certainly would not want it for everything, as the high knowledge/low power heroes (namely the Sorceress and Wizard) rely heavily on expensive spells whose efficacy depends little on power (Mass Slow, Berserk, etc).

The way I'd see things like this working is that we can make them implementable by scripting -- and make it easy to include "standard modules" that do things like this in other maps. It might actually be already possible (but clumsy) to script this.

Note, if the check found that they were above the normal maximum, it would leave as is and not reset it to maximum. This could happen with the Artesian Springs, which can set your spell points to twice normal maximum once for each of its two squares, per week.

Can be good for some maps!

But for me,

1/ Mage guild regen the mana when Heroes staying the night in the castle:
Maybe XL maps... But the sure thing is that I don't want to use this "ability" each time I play Ironfist. :)0

2/ Mage quilg "instant" mana regen:
When heroes enter the castle, Mage guild regen his Mana up to 20/40/60/80/100 %.
And also should regen the mana of the defender between 2 fights (during the night of the defender).
This version would be very good. Smile
But then I would see something more like: 20/30/40/50/70 %.

This feature comes from the H2 tournament experience. Nobody practically builds Mage Guild higher than level 1 because usually tournament players generate Slow and/or Haste spells and use the guild for mana regain. This feature should raise the value of Mage Guild upgrades, at least to some degree.

But as for me, having Slow on the 1st level is already a huge problem of Heroes 2. So that we will be moving it to Level 2 in H3SW in the future releases.

Is there any way of changing Slow to be a higher level spell? Anyway, you might want to consider making Slow cost a lot more, maybe 10 or so?
